in a time when you realize that nothing will ever be the same, if you are inclined to pray, i ask that you help me pray for these things:- for our leaders...strength to do the right thing, patience to find out what that is, wisdom to not over or under-react, courage to lead when so many will be in despair, temperance to quell the risings of anger and hatred
- for the victims and their families...that god place his hand on their heart, that he grant them peace and patience and freedom from vengence and hatred, that he fill them with quiet and not rage, that they will find comfort in the arms of those who share their feelings
- for our country...that we will stand together, united in the face of tragedy, that we will not let racism and fear permeate our response, that we will not turn on each other as we have done in the past, that we can throw together all that we have in a concentrated efforts against those who deserve it, that we can again live with a freedom from fear and enjoy the safety and confidence that we have in the past
- for our service men and women...that our victory will be swift and sure and that we will lose no one to battle, that they will return to their families healthy and lively and with great honour for serving their country
- for everyone involved, however minutely...that they feel god's presence and love for his children, each and every day, in all that they do
